I studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. In 2020, I established my own design studio called “dezin”, which focuses on designing furniture and objects for international clients.
I try to avoid unnecessary decoration in my designs. Each element is deliberately designed and has a specific use. My designs work as a whole and are composed of a very specific sum of individual elements. If one element is too much, it is overloaded; if one element lacks, the design no longer works. The use of materials should do justice to their specific characteristics. Each form has a material that is most suitable for it and vice versa. Furthermore, I always try to exploit the specific material properties, be it through an extravagant shape or a minimal use of material and construction. I also like to give my designs a certain extra, an additional special function or even a special detail.
